Amy Thompson Tesser Post

~

*~EXCERPT~*~
“It’s not air that you need. I’m here. I’ve always been here. I promised I’d never leave you, be with me. I love you,” I walked up behind her and kissed her shoulder.

She turned on me, grabbing my shirt front, and pushed me back into the dresser. The few things that were on top of my dresser clattered to the floor as it rocked back from the force of my body. I tried to reach for the strap of her gown, but she pinned my hand against the wooden furniture. As she kissed me, her fingers found the back of my neck. I allowed my free hand to play with the beads that encircled her neck. With each kiss, I tried to will Regan to remember us. Her leg wound around my hip and her nails dug into the back of my neck painfully. I ripped the necklaces away from her body sending the beads bouncing to the ground.

She pulled back and took one even breath before she responded. Several moments passed as we both tried to get our breathing under control and then I saw it. The cold iron curtain slammed shut between us before I could stop it or remind her that she was kissing me back.

“Hmm… I’ve had better. How could I ever love you, Collector?”
