Poe's Mother by Michael Meeske Review

Book's Description provided by Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Poes-Mother-ebook/dp/B007TMQMG8/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t
1975. A 15-year-old young woman. A small, dusty town. A family that worships the great American author Edgar Allan Poe, and carries his surname.
Poe's Mother is a startling new novel of dark family secrets, the lure of the supernatural, the claustrophobic isolation of a dying town and a cautionary tale of the power of words.
This is the story of Sissy Baxter and her strange relationship with Edgar and Madeline Poe - two people who claim they love her. What Sissy discovers will change her life forever, and love will never be the same.
(This book is for mature readers.)

My review and my thoughts::
This book was completely horrific and amazing at the same time! It blew my mind half the time and the other half of the time I couldnt believe what I was reading. Just imagine yourself at 15 years old and having a hard time in life when (even through you are 15 you are not a child because you have the maturity of an adult) she discovers a dark and horrible past. This book will send chills down your back and it will make you put the book down but will also make you want to pick it back up just so you know what happens next. This book makes you think rather or not its a reality or real life. What happens in some parts of this book (no I will not giveaway any part of the book because its a must read!) will make your re-read what you just read so you make sure that that's actually what happened.

This book deserves 5 out 5 stars maybe 6 for just the creepiness lol

Time for Death by Christie Silvers

I was asked to be part of a book blog tour for the book Time of Death by Christie Silvers. So I was given a bio for the author, links to buy this amazing book, links to her stalker pages, and answers that the author answered :)

Interview:
1. What animals do you have?

I have two dogs inside (Rex the Chihuahua & Spike the Boston Terrier), two dogs outside (Fudge & Fiona, mixed breed large dogs), nine chickens, and several outdoor cats (the kids' cats).

2. Favorite book.

I've had many favorite books over the years and there are just too many to list, but I'll give it a whirl.  Anne Rice's older books (vampires and witches), MaryJanice Davidson's Vampire Betsy series, anything from Charlaine Harris, Jennifer Armintrout's vampire series, and least I forget my good friend Robin Renee Ray's Bloodbreeder series.

I read a lot, but I keep a list of my reads on my website under "What I'm Reading."

3. Favorite movie or movies.

Just like my favorite books, there are just too many to list.  Here are a few of the more current ones:  Underworld series, Resident Evil series, Iron Man 1 & 2 (I love that Robert Downey Jr.), Skinwalkers (the movie isn't all that great, but looking at Jason Behr is enough to make it a favorite), and Captain America.  Have you noticed a theme here?  Hot men make the movie.

4. Pet peeves?

Smoking in public, cussing when children are present, people who are always late, bad movies, spiteful reviewers, broken nails, careless drivers, snotty people. . . Should I go on?

5. Are you clumsy or graceful?

Oh, goodness, clumsy as all get out.  I never have and never will be known for my grace.  Maybe for my lack of grace.  It makes me cringe just thinking about how clumsy I am.  And my daughters are following right along in their mother's footsteps.  Eek!

6. Dream place to live and why?

Anywhere tropical.  I love warm, sandy beaches and despise cold weather.

7. Favorite holiday...Halloween or Christmas?

Halloween for the decorations and my Gothic love and Christmas for the decorations and my children's excitement.

8. Dream date, who would it be and why?

Since I threw my poor husband over for a werewolf in another interview on this tour, I'm going to have to make it up to him in this one.  My dream date would be with my hubby of 18 years, Tim.  We would go away to a fancy shmancy bed and breakfast where we'd spend all weekend in bed.  Food and wine would be delivered to our room and the view outside would be of any beach locale in the world.  At night we would sit out on the balcony and listen to the waves (instead of whining, arguing, complaining children) crashing upon the shore, a light breeze blowing just enough to rustle the palm trees below.  Awwww. . .  That's why they call it a
dream date.

9. Where can we find your page/address?

I'm all over the 'Net, but you can find all my main social networking links on my website at http://www.christiesilvers.com

10. Facebook or Google+? Who wins in your book?

Facebook, hands down.  I don't like the way Google+ functions; I can't link it with my other accounts to make my life easier; and it loads too slow on my old laptop.  I just don't like it.  If Google ever makes it so a person can link their Twitter or Facebook account to Google+ I'll use it more.  Until then, you will find me spending my social networking time on Facebook and Twitter.

Blurb for Time for Death by Christie Silvers
Liz Baker, a 32 year old small town bar owner, thought it would be a normal evening of sex in a cemetery with her longtime beau, until she spotted someone in the distance, and all normality in her world ceased to exist.

After several murders in her small town of Tremmel Crossing, Georgia, Liz comes to the realization that the murderer is coming after her, and he’s more dangerous than any human could possibly be.

With the help of her dead mother, bar bouncer, and cemetery lover, Liz learns that the murdering vampire was sent by her biological father to claim her as his own. Only then does she discover her real parentage and underlying special powers.

However, the vampire sent to claim her has powers of his own, most importantly the power to control her mind, emotions and desires. She wants him, needs him, her entire body aches for him, but she soon finds out that she must fight back to save the lives of her friends and loved ones. Only death will release her from Marcus’s powerful hold, but who will die first?

Author Bio for Christie Silvers
Christie Silvers is a wife, mother, and writer of urban fantasy with a touch of naughtiness.  Creatures that go bump in the night inspire her.  From time to time those creatures turn to the saucy side of things and that's when Christie dabbles in the paranormal erotic side of writing.  She never knows what the characters will do until they're already doing it, which makes for some interesting late night writing sessions.

Christie lives in north Georgia with her husband of forever, three daughters, four dogs, nine chickens, and numerous outside cats.  Aside from reading, writing, laundry, rushing her children to a variety of school functions and trying not to have a panic attack while teaching her 15 year old to drive, Christie spends her spare time wondering when she'll actually have spare time to spare.
