The Stereotypical Freaks
Book Description (taken from goodreads.com)
Four disparate high school seniors come together to compete in their school's battle of the bands. Sharing a love for playing rock and roll, the members name the band "The Stereotypical Freaks" because they feel stereotyped by their classmates - smart kid, geek, star athlete and quiet weirdo… when in fact they know they are much more than those labels that have been placed on them.
When one member reveals life altering news, winning the competition takes on more of a meaning to each member. Scared and angry, upset and yet still with a lot of resolve they set out to win one for the good guys… will they?

I was given this book from the author for my honest opinion
My Opinion:
I have to admit this was my first graphic novel. I normally say no to reviewing them because I'm not really sure on how to review them. Plus, I really thought why read a graphic novel when you can read an actual book.WELL, I was so wrong!! This novel was awesome! Granted it was weird reading a graphic novel compare to a regular book but in this case who cares! This book made me laugh because I can relate to it since in high school I was a geek. It was funny how you can relate to books. Anyways, about the book now, there are 4 boys that are misfits as I call them in high school who aren't your normal kids there is a geek, weirdo, smart kid and a star athlete. Well they started a band for a contest, and as you can imagine what they went through as this band came about. But there is one down side with having all of them in one band, there is one member of their group that is keeping something from all of them and that secret might keep them from keeping the band together and from letting them complete in the contest. This book teaches you so many things, not to judge people by what they look like, what they are involved in, and who they hang out with. I would highly recommend this book to anyone even if you're not a fan of graphic novels trust me you will love this book! I think it's a great book for anyone teenager, parent, anyone!
