Waterdancer by Samantha Combs

Waterdancer
By Samantha Combs
Expected publication: September 7th 2012 by Musa Publishing

Book Description (taken from goodreads):

For Bailey Wasserman, being Bailey has recently become an incredible challenge. It's not enough that she must come to terms with her mother's new husband, their new life, and a new surfer boyfriend. When she meets her real father for the first time, she discovers a secret family trait that will alter the course of her own life and those she loves…maybe forever.

Bailey and her mom have always met life’s challenges as a team of two, more like best friends than mother and daughter. But her mom’s recent marriage has changed all of that, and having her little brother Landry is the only good Bailey can find in that union. The move to wealthy Del Mar from their humble beginnings has turned Bailey sour, until a chance meeting with surf hottie Jack West. Then Bailey’s father, with his annoying Zen-surfer lingo and a talking turtle he claims is no less than her spirit guardian, reenters her life and threatens the only relationship Bailey thinks is working in her world. She soon finds out that’s not all his arrival will do. His presence and their shared family trait could ultimately force Bailey to make a decision that will alter the course of her own life and those she loves…forever.

My Opinion:

I was given this book by the author for my honest opinion and here it is. I loved this book! I finished it within 45 minutes, it was amazing!
Bailey, was just like another other teenager who's mother remarried after a absent father. Her mother remarried a rich man who had them move. Bailey didn't get along with her stepfather, well it wasn't that she didnt get a long with him she thinks he doesn't like her she doesn't know why. Then when she does go to her first day of school she meets a hot new surfer boy who you aren't sure at first if he really likes Bailey or if he is just another typical high school boy. But then it turns out that he really does like Bailey its like love at first sight well after a couple sights. Then when something starts to happen to Bailey that only her real father can explain to her. It just so happens that her real father has come back into her life right when she needs him the most. It will all comes down to if Bailey will chose her love or her life?
This book will leave you guess til the very end of what Bailey will do. But what you are thinking is not how it will come out in the end. It came out differently then the way I was thinking and it shocked me how Samantha Combs wrote the ending, but she did an amazing job once again!

Gwen Reaper: A Young Adult Paranormal Romance By Jaz Primo

Book Description (by amazon):

"A thing of beauty is a joy forever: its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness." John Keats, English romantic poet I never thought that my first exposure to real beauty would be tinged with the threat of oblivion… ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ When high school junior Scott Blackstone is forced to move from his childhood home in Springfield, Illinois to small-town Custer, South Dakota, he expects nothing less than to languish in complete disappointment. Instead, he discovers a beautiful and mysterious seventeen-year-old girl named Gwen, who captivates him from his initial, adrenaline-laced sight of her on the shores of Stockade Lake. Scott’s pursuit of the elusive Gwen sweeps him into the midst of a potentially lethal family heritage that was birthed in hope, only to be passed into a legacy of guilt and death. Scott engages in a journey of discovery, tinged with both angst and danger. Like many dire legends throughout history, he is unprepared for the untimely revelation that both love and despair are often two sides of the same coin.

My Opinion:

Scott Blackstone was forced to move back to his childhood town after his grandparents die. He thinks it's going to be nothing but boring and will meet no friends. Scott enrolls at high school as a junior, then joins the football team. When he goes into town one day he meets a beautiful keep to yourself girl reading in the local coffee shop. He walks up to her and ask to sit at her table, not knowing who she was or what she was. He finally learns her name, Gwen who is what you would call a loner in their town because of a terrible accident a while back. Scott is amazed by her.
When weird stuff starts happening is when Scott starts to wonder what is going on with Gwen, it's not til then that she starts opening up to him on what she is and her family history. You start to wonder if he will stick by her knowing what she is and what she can do or will he leave her behind?

I loved this book!! Then again I love anything by this author he is truly gifted author. His writing is breath-taking and just amazing!!! He makes you want to be in that book and always leaves you wanting more. I was laughing at the parts that were funny and I was crying at the end (you will find out why if you read the book) and I was on the edge of my seat reading as fast as I can to find out what was going to happen. Trust me read the book and you will know what I am talking about! You won't be disappointed!!

My Opinion:

Where to start with this book?! It was AMAZING!!! There were so many good parts in this book, I can't give away anything in this book because you would have to read it for yourself. The way this author describes her characters, the plot she has is one I have never encountered before. Which was a wonderful experience, it could have only been that because of this writing style. Anais was my favorite character, yes you would figure that since she was the main character but I want to be her. She has self confidence, and a energy about her that you will love. I was so mad that this book was over so fast, I want the next book in the series and I will be bugging the author for the next book in this series. Which I can tell will be an amazing series to come! Keep up the good work Aneesa Price!!

Two Short Storied by E. H. James

Books description (by amazon)

Laura:

George had seen some pretty strange things over his lifetime, travelling those roads. But if he had thought he'd seen it all, he was sadly mistaken. For if he thought finding Laura alone, along some deserted roadside, in the middle of the night, was strange, then he had no idea that what was to follow would challenge the very boundaries of everything he'd ever known.

                                                                         The Visitor's Room:

If Amy thought this day on the psych ward would be just like any other she would be wrong.

For although everything seemed normal, well as normal as a place like that could be, there was something that was not quite right. That she couldn't put her finger on it only made it all the more perplexing.

Don't go asking questions you don't want to know the answer to, especially when you're on a psych ward, and even you begin to question your sanity.

                                                 Review for Laura:

Even through this book is only 7 pages long, this author makes it an amazing short story. You wouldn't think that with only 7 pages it wouldn't be good and you wouldn't even get a story. WRONG!! This book was weird but a good weird. E.H James puts in details and descriptions without making a thick novel out of it.

                                                Review for The Visitor's Room:

This gripping short story book was amazing from the start! To bad E.H James didn't make this a long story book, actually you know what I take that back! This book is perfect just the way it is! I wouldn't change one thing about it. I don't really like scary books about psych ward because of them being scary but this one was WOW!! i dont want to tell you any part of the story because how of short the story is but trust me pick up a copy of this book you won't be disappointed!

Book Description (taken from Amazon,com)

May 3, 2012
Have you ever wanted someone...you couldn't have? For almost a year, all Bea wanted was for things to go back to the way they were before her best friend left…but when Caid Knight comes into her life, everything changes. Even after Princess Jennipher returns, there is something different about the friendship they once shared as her relationships with fellow housemaids, Kerry and Lucy, begin altering and dwindling. News of a revolt against Crimson Isle’s four monarchies threatens the lives of those closest to her while her own safety becomes the most endangered as she considers leaving the only home she has ever known. As for Caid, her feelings for him are growing stronger with each passing day yet she doesn’t know how he feels about her. Before she can ask, she is told that fate will not allow them to be together, regardless of what she tries to do to be with him. Will she defy this foretelling or surrender herself to it?

My Opinion:

I was given this book by the author to review it. I loved it!! At first it kept me wondering what was going on, how was this book going to keep me interested if I was confused form the beginning. Well I think that I was trying to figure out the book before I had even gotten into it. Well BIG Mistake!! Even when you think you know what is going to happen you are completely wrong!
Then the way the author gives the characters, I mean each character you come across has a purpose maybe not a big one yet she still explains each of them and their background as to why they are the way they are. Even when she is describing the castle and every room in it it's amazing. I just want to live in this book from the way the Monique describes everything.  The main character, Bea you feel for her. I mean the way the queen and the princess (her "friend") treats her is unbelievable! I can't wait for the sequel for this book to be out, I think it will be even better then the first book!

Thank you Monique for letting me read and review this book!
